What Is the CranioSacral System—and Why It Matters for Your Health

Your spine—including your head, neck, and sacrum—is the foundation of your CranioSacral system. It’s more than just structural; your spine connects directly or indirectly to every tissue and muscle in your body. Wrapped around it is a gentle, pulsing river of cerebrospinal fluid that flows through your central nervous system, flushing, recycling, and regulating.
This fluid creates a slow, steady rhythm—one that I begin to tune into as soon as we start a session. It can be felt anywhere in your body. (Ask me to show you your rhythm in session—it's one of my favorite things to share!)
By bringing my awareness to your cerebrospinal rhythm, I can begin to sense where that flow may be restricted. These restrictions often happen in the dural membrane system, which surrounds the brain and spinal cord and connects to every muscle and organ in your body. Using gentle, sustained touch, I encourage the body to release these restrictions and allow the fluid to move freely again.
Restrictions can form for many reasons—physical injuries, emotional stress, stored trauma. Our bodies remember. They hold our stories in the tissues, muscles, and fascia. That’s why during a CranioSacral session, you might feel emotions arise or physical sensations shift. It’s your body’s way of releasing what it no longer needs to hold.
The body wants to heal. When we give it time, space, and gentle support, it begins to do what it does best—restore balance. That’s why I offer 75-minute sessions: to allow your system enough space to process, integrate, and unwind in a sustainable way.
In my CranioSacral sessions, I also weave in chakra work, somatic practices, and sound healing to support your entire system—body, mind, and energy—in coming back into harmony.
Everyone’s experience with this work is unique, and I love hearing what arises for each person. If you're curious about how your own body communicates, heals, and restores itself, I’d love to share this gentle, powerful work with you.
