March: Opening to the Universe

As we move toward longer days and into spring, I’m feeling drawn to the energy of Sahasrara — the Crown Chakra. March often carries a sense of transition — light returning, subtle shifts in energy, and the feeling that something new is beginning to emerge. This can be a beautiful time to explore spaciousness, integration, and connection.

The Sahasrara chakra lives at the top of your head and is associated with awareness, presence, and your connection to something larger than yourself. Rather than striving to “reach” anything, this chakra invites a gentle allowing — a softening into clarity, perspective, and trust.

From a craniosacral perspective, the crown relates closely to the parietal bones and the broader cranial system. This area often responds when your nervous system settles into deeper states of rest. When there is ease here, people sometimes notice a sense of lightness, openness, or quiet stillness — as if your thoughts have more space to move without becoming overwhelming.

March can be an invitation to notice how integration naturally happens when your system is supported. After the inward reflection of winter, your body may be organizing and preparing for more outward movement. Supporting rest and gentle awareness now can help this transition feel more grounded and sustainable.

Throughout this month, I’ll be sharing practices to support the head and nervous system, encourage cranial fluid movement, and invite moments of stillness. You may notice subtle shifts in sleep, moments of calm clarity, or a sense of connection that feels steady rather than dramatic.

One way to connect with your crown could be to try this:

Crown Awareness Practice (3 minutes)

  • Possibly sitting comfortably or lying down, allowing your spine to feel supported.

  • Rest one hand lightly at the top of your head.Inhale gently through your nose, sensing the breath moving through your chest and into the space above your head.

  • Exhale slowly, allowing your scalp, jaw, and neck to soften.

  • Imagine or sense a gentle spaciousness at the crown — open, quiet, and steady.

  • Repeat for 8–10 cycles.

Let March be a reminder that clarity doesn’t always come from doing more — sometimes it emerges when you give yourself permission to simply be. ✨
